WHITE - collectables one
Over the years we recorded a lot of material during our concert tours. Most of it we recorded live, for some we went into the studio in between concerts. We never had the chance to release these recordings and so they slowly turned into WHITE, Ineke Vandoorn & Marc van Vugt , collectables one.

No less than 29 musicians are playing on the CD WHITE: saxophonists Andy Sheppard (UK - Carla Bley) and Sylvain Beuf (Fr - Bojan Z, André Ceccarelli), the complete Nederlands Kamerkoor (a classical chamber choir with 17 singers) and jazz improvisation chamber orchestra Big Bizar Habit.

WHITE is the 10th CD on which Ineke Vandoorn & Marc van Vugt are playing together. The CD presents itself like a canvas on which the duo creates their own world in 10 songs. A world in which intimacy predominates and where the odd burlesque outburst may surprise the listener. In poignent and often very personal lyrics Ineke Vandoorn outlines her subtle observations of daily life. Moreover, she goes beyond the surface and gives room to what usually remains unspoken.

The music is characterised by long and associative lines that often reveal a melancholic undertone. On several orchestral tracks composer Marc van Vugt shows his superb eye for details. Although there are obviously echos of different styles like the virtuoso Brazilian choro, jazz music and the fairytale-like (pop) music of Scandinavia, WHITE is unmistakable Vandoorn/Van Vugt.
